MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • 4.0 mm crochet hook

  • Scissors

  • Tan yarn

  • Green yarn

  • Blue yarn (feel free to change the colors to customize your sock!)

ABBREVIATIONS:

  • ch (chain stitch)

  • slst (slipstitch)

  • sc (single crochet)

  • inc (increase)

  • That's all! Only four basic stitches!

FOR THE MAIN PART OF THE SOCK:

Use tan yarn for this part.

  • R1 - ch 32 or enough that the chains will fit around the widest part of your foot.

  • Connect the first and the thirty-second ch with slst

  • R2 through R18 - all sc

  • This piece should now fit around a part of your foot as shown in the images below.

  • Now, this is the tricky part to understand.

  • R19 - for 14 of the stitches in the round make all sc. Then make 18 ch for the number of stitches that are left.

  • R20 - connect the ch to the first stitch of the round using sc and then all sc for the rest of the round.

  • This should make a hole in the sock. We will add the heel in after we finish this part.

  • R21 and R22 - all sc

  • Turn the sock inside-out.

  • R23 - grab your sock cuff, turn it inside-out, and crochet it on using slst

  • Tie off your yarn! You're almost done with the sock!

FOR THE TOE:

  • make 14 ch

  • R1 - all sc

  • Here is a hard part to understand, so read this carefully.

  • Rotate the piece of crocheting so that it is upside-down.

  • Now, crochet a round of sc on the other side of the ch

  • This will form an oval shape as shown in picture #2.

  • Now, when you crochet this, you should make your stitches for a round go all the way around the oval.

  • R3 - follow this stitch pattern - sc, sc, inc. sc, sc, inc. sc, sc, inc...

  • R4 - make 5 sc

  • R5 - flip the toe piece over and crochet 10 sc on top of the ones that you just made.

  • R6 - flip the toe piece over and crochet 10 sc on top of the other ones that you just made. See picture 3 for guidance.

  • R7 through R9 - all sc around the WHOLE toe piece.

  • The larger part of the toe piece is for your big toe.

  • R10 - using slst, crochet the toe piece onto the sock.

FOR THE HEEL:

Use green yarn for this part.

  • R1 - make 2 ch

  • R2 - all inc

  • You should now have 4 stitches in a round. If you have three then add a ch

  • R3 - make 3 inc and one sc

  • R4 and R5 - all sc

  • R6 - alternate between sc and inc

  • R7 and R8 - all sc

  • R9 - alternate between sc and inc

  • Tie off yarn and repeat these steps to make a second triangle.

  • Put your two triangles aside for now and make 6 ch

  • R2 through R10 - all sc

  • Tie off your yarn.

  • as shown in picture #2, turn the sock inside-out and crochet the triangles into the heel-hole.

  • There should now be a rectangular-shaped hole at the bottom of your heel. Take the rectangle piece, and crochet it onto the rectangular space using slst. (The sock should still be turned inside-out while you are doing this.)

FINISHING TOUCHES:

Use blue yarn for this part:

  • If the end of the sock that your little toe is in is too saggy, tuck in the corner and crochet up the hole using slst.

Use tan yarn for this part:

  • If you wish to make the ankle of the sock higher, crochet more rounds ontop of it using sc.

FOR THE OTHER SOCK:

  • Simply repeat the same process for the next sock. However, make sure to crochet the toe piece on FACING THE OTHER WAY! If you don't you will end up with two socks that only fit one foot. After you have completed this step... you're done! Have a cozy time with your fluffy socks. you can put them in the wash and dryer and they will come out even fluffier.
